Last Thursday 1st August, we were lucky enough to be asked by Japan Airlines (JAL) to be the first school in Australia to participate in an ‘Origami Program’ that JAL is hoping to run with other Primary Schools throughout Victoria.
The General Manager of JAL and 10 of his management staff all came along with special origami paper from Japan and taught a special program called ‘SORAIKU’ (meaning Sky and Earth). This program teaches children how JAL use origami to reduce the fuel cost in operating their aircraft and its approach to the environment. This program is also taught in Japanese Primary Schools throughout Japan.
Japan Airlines were so impressed by the wonderful children in 4K that they kindly asked if they could return to teach other grades the ‘SORAIKU’ program.
We are all looking forward to their return !
