Welcome back to Term 3! We have a VERY exciting term ahead learning Japanese.
Preps are continuing to learn the Hiragana alphabet, learning to count up to 20 and will learn the Japanese names of parts of the body.
Years 1 & 2 will be looking at naming family members (big brother, little sister, mother, father, etc.) and how to meet and greet family members, the Hiragana alphabet and numbers up to 60.
Years 3 & 4 will be looking at telling the time in Japanese on the hour and half hour, students will be able to ask and answer what time is dinner/ lunch/ school /etc. They will also be learning the days of the week, and months of the year and will be able to ask and answer questions related to their birthday. They will also be translating Japanese and English vocabulary.
Year 5 & 6 will be exploring shopping, they will be looking at participating in simulated transactions such as purchasing goods, ordering food, using appropriate gestures, expressions and relevant shopping questions and answers.
