Term 1 is always a busy term in the Art room.
Preps are learning about the space, where to find things and the best way to use them.
Year 1 will be looking at the colour wheel, using different lines and portraits.
Year 2 will be looking at warm and cool colours, the artwork of Joan Miro and pattern making.
Year 3 will be exploring tints and shades.
Year 4 will be revisiting the colour wheel and what is the difference between primary, secondary and tertiary colours. They will also be exploring fonts and layout.
Year 5 will be exploring portraits and the ratios that are found in the face.
Year 6 will be looking at drawing to scale as well as exploring some of the basic principles of photography.
This year is also the Art Show year and I am looking forward to sharing more about this later on.
Also if you and your family hasn’t gone to the Triennial exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria, I highly recommend it. There are lots of hands on activities for the young (and not so young) ones to get involved with.
