Over the last couple of weeks the Grade 3 students have been doing lots of work on measurement. We have found the perimeter and area of the basketball court and oval using informal and formal units. We have learnt about volume, capacity and mass and did a fun activity where we found the capacity of different shopping items. The students had to identity which object was more than a litre or less than a litre. Then we looked at converting litres into millilitres. Next week we will continue to enhance our measurement skills though cooking. These are all great hands on activities that can easily be done at home and are a fun, interactive way to learn.
