Open the door to Year 4

Pedal to the metal ….that’s Term 4!

Please slow down Term 4!!! Week 3 already and we are NOT looking forward to saying goodbye to this lovely cohort of learners.

The Soccer Gala Day was absolutely perfect in every way. The weather, the camaraderie, the sportsmanship, impressive soccer skills, the teamwork, resilience and general mood of the day. Thank you so much to all the wonderful parent helpers. We cannot participate in these events without your presence, so we really thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Grandparents Day was a huge success. The room was filled with smiling faces and some Grandparents were even shared amongst those children who couldn’t host their own grandparents or special friends.

We celebrated the official launch of Active Pathways to School. It was great to see the stickers/decals on the 4 safe routes to school, that our children had worked so hard on. The free breakfast was delicious and we were very impressed by so many children and families who joined us on our safe walk/ride/scoot to school.

4J showcased our Active and Sustainable Pathways to School initiative at Assembly and what a powerful message it was. Hopefully, our community will all come to the fete, see our projects and be inspired to ditch the car for more sustainable and active ways to get around.

We have begun our maths unit on fractions and the children are really tuned in and focused. Next week we will move through to decimals.

The oral presentations of the Sustainability Projects are well underway and we thank you for your support in working with your child to help research, create and edit such detailed and high quality pieces of work. We are all learning so much from each and every presentation. The Year 4s will be holding an expo next Thursday, so they can proudly showcase all their hard work to the whole school.

Our Great Southern Land unit is in full swing. We integrate reading, writing, spelling, researching, speaking and listening and digital technology, so throughout the days and weeks ahead, the children will be immersed in this fascinating investigation into Australia’s past.

Here are some photos of the last 2 weeks. See you at the Fete on Sunday!

Have a gorgeous weekend,

Warm Regards,

Michelle, Matt, Laura and Mel
