Matsuri Day 2016! What an awesome day of immersion into all things Japanese. We kicked things off with chopstick races, Wadaiko drummers and flute players. It was fascinating to learn about the traditional Japanese tale of Tanabata. We were fortunate to have Year 4 students re-enact the story for us using Bunraku puppets! It was fun making and decorating a variety of origami products and other Japanese craftworks. We finished by participating in a traditional tea ceremony. Sampling Japanese tea and sweets was a delicious conclusion to Matsuri Day 2016!
